On June 16, 2005, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held a groundbreaking ceremony for Incheon Bridge in Songdo International City. The groundbreaking ceremony was held with more than 2,000 people attending, including President Roh Moo Hyun, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Han Duck-soo, and Minister of Construction and Transportation. The Incheon Bridge is a bridge connecting Songdo International City and Yeongjong International City (Incheon International Airport), and it is expected to contribute to the creation of IFEZ development infrastructure, revitalization of foreign capital, and realization of an economic hub in Northeast Asia.
